Michael is the co-founder and CEO of CommunityLend, a unique online social lending service launching across Canada in mid 2008. Prior to starting CommunityLend, Michael was part of the founding team and was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Internet start up, epost, a world leader in the electronic bill presentment and payment industry. Michael’s team was responsible for building the epost customer network, which they grew to include every major Canadian financial institution, over 100 of Canada’s largest companies and over 3 million online users. Previous to this role, Michael was a Management Consultant in Washington, DC, a co-founder of an Internet start-up in Ottawa, and part of the launch team of a successful Labour Sponsored Investment Fund in Toronto. Michael also served as a Legislative and Special Assistant to a number of Members of Parliament at the House of Commons in Ottawa. Michael attended both the University of Manitoba and Carleton University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics. Michael is a also a regular blog contributor at online professional marketing blog OneDegree.ca. Michael was born in Churchill, Manitoba and has lived in almost every region of Canada, from BC to Quebec, from Manitoba to the NWT. He currently resides in Toronto his wife and their two sons.
