[...] Last night, I participated in a Canadian Public Relations Society panel, and it struck me that the high-tech sector is in the midst of a event renaissance. Whether it’s conferences, meet-ups, workshops, DemoCamps, BarCamps, panels, breakfast meetings or just drinks, there’s so much going on the time. In Toronto, for example, there’s three major conferences: ICE 07, mesh and WOM happening within the next three months. Then you’ve got the New Media Awards in late-May, StartUpCamp in June, and a bunch of other events in between. [...]

[...] I spent the morning at PodCamp Toronto today. It’s fair to say that there is huge interest in this city in pod and videocasting. The event was obviously enormously successful - big props to the organizers, Leesa Barnes of Podonomics (who has helped us with meshcasts), Jay Moonah of Uncle Seth and Online Music Marketing, Brent Morris of The Closet Geek Show, Julien of the In Over Your Head hip hop podcast, and Mitch Joel of Twist Image. There’s a social tonight, and a day 2 tomorrow. Some photos here. Related Posts [...]

[...] I’m pretty excited. I was at a MESH meet and was interviewed by the increalibly awesome Leesa Barnes, and my interview is now on the MESH website. It’s a little hard to hear because we were in a crowded pub, but I am thrilled nonetheless.   Check it out http://www.meshconference.com/blog/2006/11/23/the-mesh-mini-podcasts-are-here/  [...]

[...] As part of their recent launch of the Mesh 2007, the organizers produced a series of mini-podcast, featuring people from the community.
[...] The Meshcasts (Rob’s term) are up on the Mesh blog. Thanks to Uncle Seth for that wonderful song called To Be An Angel that I used in both the intro and outro. I was having a devil of a time trying to find something that could capture the energy of Mesh and then I stumbled upon that song.As I perused a few blogs that made mention of the Meshcasts, I couldn’t help but notice a miscegenation of the word Mesh with other Web 2.0 terms. Meshcast is just one, so let’s have fun with this. [...]
