updated: thank you and feedback
That’s all for now. Man, am I tired.
Update: It looks like people are using this as a feedback spot – that’s great, keep it up. Also, on the wiki. We are working on getting have an email addy set up for feedback, too at feedback [at] meshconference.com or ping any of us.
Also, if you come across more stuff out there that you’d like to share, mesh06 is the tag of choice.
Update 2: I am on Inside the Net with Amber and Leo talking mesh. What a thrill. Leo suggests we go global

80-20 rule 80% good. 20% total wankers. Tara chick added zero value and putting the backchannel up on the screen in the last session shows how A.D.D. bloggers can be. "Retarded ideas" are the new "hip"
I had a fantastic time and would like to thank all the organizers and those that worked behind the scenes to pull this off. Hope to see Mesh come around again next year.
Congrats. It was a great event. The session had the right mix of what this stuff is, why you should care and how you should do it. There truly was something for everyone, including cool t-shirts and purses for everyone.
I agree, Tara's presentation simply was not up to par with the other presentations of the day. The pencil and card exercise was ill-conceived for an audience of that size and the intended break-out discussions between audience members seemed like an easy time-killer to run-out the clock. Pawning-off a rightly critical audience question to her boyfriend reeked of unprofessionalism. Not a well planned or executed presentation.
Many thanks to all of the organizers and contributors. I met some great people, and can't wait to see further development on some of the great ideas and products we talked about.
All in all, a great conference. Of course I wanted to be on the Corporate blogging panel, so I was a little frustrated hearing Tara say "she didn't believe in corporate blogging". I'm a little tired of the whole "blogging is about taking on the man!" rhetoric.
Sign me up for the next one!
Thank you for a fantastic conference!
We (David and I) really enjoyed ourselves and thought it was the best conference we've ever been to.
If you need any panelists for next year, we'd love to be invited
The organizers of mesh and the staff at MaRS were absolutely tops and very helpful. We made it back to London last night and wished we could have gone to the after party to keep meshing with everyone and make more contacts. Hope it was good.
Keep in touch everyone!
Cheers,
Stephanie Ciccarelli
(remember, we're soon to be voices.com!)
Great conference. Loved Michael Geist. Enjoyed the blogging, wiki, and podcasting workshops. Welcomed the contrast between Steve Rubel and Tara Hunt (great presenter!). Found "Creating a Viable Web Business" useful. The Drake and the networking were fun.
Picayune Details:
The signage could have been clearer; it took me a while to find the upstairs rooms.
Love the t-shirt!
What a great two days. Lively, informative and full of ideas. Unfortunately I missed a couple of the panels, but all in all I enjoyed the ones I made it to.
Ditto looking forward to the next one… and if you need any rogue traditional marketers next time give a holler! Hope to see you at a BarCampTdot soon.
Here's to keeping the momentum going and the ideas flowing!

Great Job Guys !! It was well worth the time /money spent
SideBar : I think Tara did a good job opening the eyes of the PR/MArketing folks on whats out there.. From what I see of the other comments here, we are mostly geeky bloggers and techie -so obervisouly found no new 'revelution' or hack from any of the Speakers !!
That said, all in all- this was a good expereince for me – I could get to hook up with some new peeps and xhange ideas and for those bloggers whom we know, it was like a meeting a good friend for the first time !!
Anyhoot, the Kudos go the the 5 Amigos !!

Thank you thank you THANK YOU. You guys did a great job and I'm looking forward to next year! Student tickets were most appreciated, by the way!
Outstanding event, guys. congratulations and hearty thanks to all the instigators, volunteers, coordinators, planners, caterers, collaborators, and trouble makers involved.
My personal event highlights (in no particular order):
Gary King
Hallway conversations & meetups
Steve Rubel Furry Mascot Smackdown

Can't wait for next year!

World class! That's really the only description I have for mesh. It's the best conference I've been to outside of a BarCamp, which technically is an unconference, so mesh is the best conference I've been too.
I added a page to the wiki called Refactor mesh – http://www.socialtext.net/mesh/member/index.cgi?Refactor%20mesh as a starting point for documenting changes, suggestions, improvements about the conference experience.
Thanks David. I updated the post with a link to it.
Really enjoyed it. 10 years ago I was selling Internet ads to people who'd never heard of the Web. Boy, deja vu all over again. Have to admit I was shortselling the power of blog. Great job, everyone.
First-class job, guys. An excellent balance between the business and social channels of Web 2.0. I left with a new appreciation of "social computing" and the collaborative aspects of the innovative applications out there. The results will start showing up in our products soon. Thanks again.
Fantastic event! And I will come to Tara's defense; she had a very engaging, interactive and risk-taking session. Tara's ideas are provocative and important parts of a dialogue between two very different approaches to marketing. I was happy to have had the opportunity to hear her ideas and enjoyed the level of interaction in the room.
My, my, my….what a mesh you boys made!
Great conference. I find it fascinating to read the negative comments, and these are reflective of the confused time we are in with Web 2,0. There was lots to learn and think about, and its clear that there are more questions than answers.
Hey guys,
I also had an absolutely AWESOME time at mesh. I really learned a lot, and now I'm definitely much more prepared for 'web 2.0' than ever
Maybe we can make this a bi-annual event instead and have it twice a year? Or, at least, a lot of you should show up for the next BarCamp/TorCamp/DemoCamp/whatever-camp s here in Toronto.
Thanks again to all the organizers for this great conference!
And, feel free to visit my blog!
By the way, waking up at 6:30 am for the conference and getting back home at ~7:00 pm and then finishing up on school work and business, was totally worth it.
I'd like to do it again sometime soon! It's a good habit to have, anyways.
P.S.
Any idea if the audio will be posted on IT Conversations or not?
Gary, you were a mesh highlight, for me and many others. Thank you.
The audio is going up on IT Conversations – Rob listened to the recordings today and said that they are great. I will blog it when they are up.
I echo Stuart on Gary being a highlight. As was Sacha, Colin, Joan, Tris, Troy, Jen and so many other fine people I met at the conference.
Hats of to the five gringos who led this from concept to hatch. I've a couple conferences and know how much hard work this is – well done.
Congrats on a great event. You guys done good. Connect? Check. Share? Check. Inspire? Double Check.
Great great gathering. It was quite refreshing. It was also nice to see and hear the folks who you read about on a regular basis. The atmosphere was friendly, inviting, and very educational. Thanks. Can't wait for mesh 07.
That was totally fun! =)
Just thought I'd let everyone know that our website is up!
Read our manifesto – it rocks
Cheers,
Stephanie
How long until the podcasts of the sessions are up?
For those interested – most of Amber Mac's Podcasting workshop is featured in episode 46 of commandN (www.commandn.tv to download). The segment starts at around 6:21.
Thanks again to everyone at Mesh! Can't wait till next year.
