3,200 emails, ouch! Perhaps some of Merlin's magic would be helpful right now.

Patrick, I would think it's so that malicious HTML isn't embedded into comments. Aren't most blogs like that?

Stuart,

I am really looking forward to the conference. Thanks to the mesh partnership for taking it on.

But I have to agree with Patrick on this. If the whole point of mesh is to "connect, share, inspire", I think that trackbacks and links on this blog are pretty core to achieving that mandate, don't you?

You have a fantastic opportunity to seed the conversation prior to the conference though this blog. The creative energies of all the participants can make this a fantastic and memorable event. I ask that you open it up.

Patrick and Mark: Completely fair comments. We've been running flat-out just getting mesh off the ground, but there is absolutely more to be done. We are talking about what we can do, both with the blog and with wikis, too. We won't nail everything, but we are trying to find the right balance between a conference and an unconference, and are really trying to walk the talk. Stay tuned.

Mark: The headlines are permalinks. If you click them, you will see that in the address box.

For instance this is http://www.meshconference.com/blog/post.php?id=34

This is home grown technology, kindness of Mike, and it works (:-)). We will try to add more funcitonality down the track once we get some bandwidth to do it.

Thanks to all for the notes. We are listening.
Looking good. Most of my concerns about participation pre-conference can be addressed with well-advertised use of the mesh06links tag on del.icio.us and similarly technorati. Perhaps a post on some of the tags in use that are already getting traction out there in the blogosphere?
